How slow can you go?

Here’s an e-mail send out from the LA “Model” Ideal Org, that opened on April 24, 2010. According to Scientology Inc press releases, it wasn’t opened on April 24, 2010. It was “re-dedicated”. So it was recycled as an Ideal Org.

Anyway, check out this promo piece. What do you see or don’t you see?

What I noticed was he’s a seven-year veteran staff member who’s only a Happiness Rundown completion and a Full Basics Book & Lectures Completion. And look, oh wow, he’s a Fully Hatted Extension Course Director. (Yawn.)

So apparently it’s taken him seven years to move one step on the Bridge. I mean, if he was a Purification Rundown Completion, a TRs and Objectives Completion, and Scientology Drug Rundown Completion, they’d say so, wouldn’t they? Apparently he can count on spending the next sixty-three years trying to make it to Clear.

Notice that he hasn’t had any auditor training. Or any administrative training above Extension Course Director Full Hat.

That’s quite a product, LA Foundation.

This guy is living proof that joining staff is not the way to move on either side of the Bridge.

Not really a glowing example of someone to put on a piece of recruitment promo.

How about 35 years on staff one way or another and only FPRD lists — no other auditing at all except repair lists. True story!

You have to make sacrifices in order to clear a planet. C’mon people! We all know its tough work with low pay, so let’s get the show on the road.

Maybe he’s a fully hatted Reg for the IAS and you just don’t know it. Don’t sell the guy short, I’d buy a used car from him.

Some pcs R/S and have evil purposes to do others in. But no Grade 0 or Grade I or Grade II. What others? Martians?

GRADE II
Some orgs specialize in Grade II, especially on org staff. The pc is always getting Confessionals or his O/Ws pulled on so-and-so.

If you look on the Grade Chart you will find withholds and overts are GRADE TWO.

Below Grade II lies Grade I (Problems) and Grade 0 (Communications). And below that is Dianetics and at the bottom end of Dianetics is the drug handling.

Now how do you expect a fellow who has unhandled drugs or omitted drug items (because of “no interest”) to even know (no Grade 0) that other people are around or that (Grade I) he is caved in with problems he’s never even cognited on?

And he’s supposed to have enough responsibility to answer up on Grade II? With real overts and withholds?

This does not mean you must never Sec Check. It does mean that Sec Checks are no substitute for auditing or guarantee of innocence.

Grades are grades and the Grade Chart sequence is correct.

So now we understand how a 14-year-old recruited into the Sea Org last year can be Just Plain Evil when placed in an Ethics Officer post at Flag.

Or how the Sea Org members at Int can be balled-up like haywire requiring what seems to be constant conditions and handlings, all with no product at the end of the tunnel.

It’s because they’re not being addressed with Standard Tech. They’re being addressed with Miscavige Shortcut Tech. Being given Sec Checks instead of moving them smoothly up the Grades.

But here it is in red and white. Ron’s expectation of what STANDARD means.

How can STANDARD TECH ALONE RESOLVE ALL CASES when it isn’t actually being applied? (ref: HCOB 28 August 1968 OUT-TECH)

And how Ideal can an Ideal Org be when it’s not applying Standard Tech? (see my post on “55 minute cleaners is just the name of the store” at /?p=1551; just because it’s CALLED an Ideal org is not what makes it an Ideal Org)

I’m truly sorry that you spent 35 years getting nowhere on the Bridge.

But thank you for speaking up now so others need not fall into the same venom pit.

I should probably clarify that the true story isn`t about me! I agree with everything you said though!

What I see in this promo piece is that the church is letting it be known that there is such a thing as an extension course and that it is ok to do.

An extension course is training delivered through mail or e-mail to people who can’t/won’t come into an org.

Extension courses were taboo at one time because they ran contrary to the “bodies in the shop” stat(BIS). Bodies in the shop leads to gross income. Therefore, BIS is an important stat.

Extension courses are great for people who want to do courses, but don’t want to come into an org, where they are constantly hassled to donate big bucks to the IAS, Ideal org programs, tours registrars etc.

This promo piece tells me that public students and preclears won’t go into an org do basic courses or major sevices.

We hear a lot about empty orgs. So the paid completions stat has to be padded by extension courses completions.

Or perhaps well intentioned staff have found extension courses to be the only way to get the org product of well trained students in the face of miscavage suppression of auditor training?

a) Model Ideal Org — a small imitation of the real thing?
b) 7 years on staff and he’s made it all the way to HRD? Wow where do I sign up?
c) “Extend your sphere of influence to the entire world” — yeah, right.
d) What’s an Extension Course Director doing with this welcoming gesture anyhow?

Dan: “Make a difference, join the team” and “Extend your sphere of influence to the entire world” is Scientology Codespeak for “join staff”. Abril Switzer and Erinn Rusnak are in the Personnel section at LAF and LAD.

If this was an ad for a person to purchase an Extension Course, it could (should) be clearer.

And they could certainly promote the purchase of extension courses without using a photo of someone who’s channelling a 1970′s Kojak.

Yes, you are right. It is a recruitment promo piece and not intended to sell extension courses.

What struck me was that he is a “book and lectures completion” and extension course sup.

I get tons of promo for the basic books and lectures. Maybe I’m just overwhelmed on the basics.

But, it makes me wonder how many auditors LA org trained this year? Or how many clears they made?

Ah, yes. Completing the full basics books and lectures lineup is actually part of the hat checksheet for Extension Course Director. If he hadn’t gotten fully hatted for his post, he wouldn’t have completed his basics, either.
