Chris Shelton on What is Wrong with Scientology, Part 1

Chris Shelton graces the internet today with the first in what looks to be a level-headed series of critiques of the “church” of Scientology Inc.

Time will tell if my prediction is true.

But compare this video to the previous post on this site (Church Secrets and Legends).

Chris says he isn’t interested in tearing down the “church’s” beliefs…its “tech”. The Legends video has two “experts” (they’re not) named Hassan and Ebner, spouting as “factual” statement after statement to tear down core beliefs of Scientology.

It doesn’t look like Chris is going to give us the inside scoop on  juicy secrets about what’s on OT VIII or how to fake your way through a Clear Certainty Rundown or how to convince a incorporealized L. Ron Hubbard to audit you on the “real” OT VIII telepathically. (Yes, people have wanted us to post articles or comments on those subjects. Not our game.)

Instead, I’m anticipating finding out more about what I’m really  interested in: how the “church” is killing itself, day by day, bit by bit, by rendering good operational policy bad or inventing new operational policy that it uses to shoot itself in the foot. And who is culpable for it.

I think we may find it refreshing, let’s hope so.

Tearing down the whole thing is as bad as seeing things from a cultish point of view: all black or all white. That doesnt work and it causes heart ache at some point or another. It is one of the most important lessons for me after leaving a cult like corporate Scientology.
